Overview Barnard’s affiliate Barnard NE, LLC and our new Northeast office located in White Plains, NY is hiring aHeavy Civil Lead Estimator position. Barnard is a heavy-civil construction company with projects underwayacross North America. Barnard NE and our Northeast office willstrategically pursue projects, develop relationships, and expand our presence in the New York Metro areaand Northeastern US. Barnard specializes in heavy civil infrastructure including dam construction andrehabilitation, power transmission and distribution, tunneling, marine, oil & gas pipelines, water and sewerpipelines, and environmental projects. Qualifications Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Equivalent experiencein a construction-related position will also be considered. At least 10yrs of heavy civil construction experience in the New York metro area. Experience estimating and developing bids for large heavy civil projects including but not limitedto bridges, transit, railways, and other types of heavy civil infrastructure. New York City Metro area and/or Northeast urban environment experience. Experience with alternative delivery contracts including but not limited to CMAR, Design-Build,CMGC, Progressive Design-Build, P3, etc. Experience collaborating with owners, subcontractors, and other project team members toprovide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility Previous field operations experience. Strong organizational and time management skills. Safety oriented, 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred. Strong work ethic and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Ability to function as a team-builder/player. Responsibilities Responsibilities Work with the project and estimating team to lead the development of costs estimates andproposals for large complex heavy civil projects. Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting Contract Documents (specifications, drawings, andreference information) to develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civilconstruction projects Review accuracy of quantity takeoffs and material pricing. Preparing value engineering solutions; including cost, schedule, and Owner benefits. Preparing responses to Request for Qualifications (RFQ's) and Request for Proposals (RFP's). Work with the accounting and equipment departments to determine labor and equipment costs. Develop scopes of work and project schedules.
