Description
The Tenth Judicial District, which includes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Associate to join the Anoka County Court Criminal Disposition team in Anoka, MN.
The Court Operations Associate position is a fast paced, highly detail-oriented position with a variety of responsibilities such as performing advanced clerical work, providing customer service, and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules, policies, and standards to achieve an impartial, accessible, fair, and timely system of justice. As a Court Operations Associate, you will work directly with the public, judges, and other court employees by processing criminal and juvenile case types. Duties require the application of independent judgement and the interpretation of established laws, policies, procedures, regulations based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job.
This AFSCME-represented position is classified as a Court Operations Associate and located in the Anoka County Courthouse at 2100 3rd Ave. Anoka, MN 55303, with the possibility of a remote or hybrid work environment. Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays. Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:
Independently performs administrative and case processing work for adult and juvenile criminal court cases. Performs a variety of advanced clerical and case processing tasks in compliance with court rules, policies, and procedures. Utilizes court technology systems such as the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), Microsoft Office, electronic File and Serve (eFS), SharePoint, and other related platforms. Assists attorneys, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to inquiries in person, over the phone, by mail, and electronically in a timely and professional manner. Provide courtroom support by collaborating with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners, calling cases, capturing minutes, handling court documents, and processing cases in a courtroom setting. Provide requested information in accordance with applicable policies, laws, and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when handling sensitive case information.
Attends and actively participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, processes, and procedures.
May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including setting up and testing recording equipment and recording and monitoring court proceedings

High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
NICE TO HAVE
Proficient in Microsoft office Suite, with the ability to learn other job-related software
Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment
Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court.

Ability to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to analyze information accurately
Supplemental Information
The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $22.50 to $28.45/hr, based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $46,980- $73,999 annually. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Interviews to be held the week of June 15th, 2026
