Broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, defense, intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance markets.  ***Onsite at our San Diego (Otay Mesa) location. This role is eligible for a referral bonus***\n<h2>Impact of the Role</h2>\n<h3>General Profile</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines </li>\n <li>Solves complex problems </li>\n <li>Works independently, receives minimal guidance</li>\n <li>May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives </li>\n <li>Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience</li>\n <li>Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Essential Functions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.</li>\n <li>Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.</li>\n <li>Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.</li>\n <li>Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Designs and develops new brushed and multiphase brushless DC electric motors.</li>\n <li>Performs design experiments related to motor designs and develops test methods, from concept to planning and execution stage.</li>\n <li>Conducts motor performance predictions by analyses of actual data and through the development of design related algorithms in addition to the existing methods.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Required education and experience:</strong> Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience</li>\n <li><strong>Discipline/Major:</strong> Engineering degree required</li>\n <li><strong>Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:</strong> Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Preferred education and experience:</strong> Bachelor's Degree</li>\n <li><strong>Knowledge, skills & abilities:</strong> Oral and Written Communication. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.</li>\n <li>Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.</li>\n <li>May need to stand for long periods of time.</li>\n <li>Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.</li>\n <li>This position is Safety-Sensitive.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Travel Requirements</h2>Up to 25% travel likely.\n<h2>Pay Range (USD)</h2>$84,854.00 - $157,586.00\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
