Description

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Men's & Women's Alpine Ski Coach! The Assistant Coach will aid in the development and management of the Alpine Ski program. This is a part-time position with some nights and weekends required. Responsibilities: Attend practices (dryland and on snow) Assist with training and coaching of student-athletes Assist with course setting Some recruitment of high school student-athletes (for example: calling/emailing, possibly traveling to watch races, meeting recruits and parents during campus visits, etc.) Assist with home and away race preparation and strategy Assist with team travel Minimum Requirements: Previous coaching/racing experience at junior/collegiate level Familiarity with USCSA/FIS requirements and regulations Current driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred Requirements: Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or the ability to become certified USSA Level 100 Coaching Certification Qualified candidates will be problem solvers, capable of communicating well with head coach and student-athletes and have a sincere interest in providing a valuable, well-rounded team experience to the Saint Joseph’s College student-athletes. A strong knowledge of ski racing and at least three years coaching experience required or college racing experience. Located on the shores of Sebago Lake in Standish, Maine, the 460-acre campus offers 46 undergraduate programs and a Division III athletic program to approximately 800 on-campus students.
