    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Description</span></p>\n<p>Arts Complex Ushers serve as the cornerstone of customer service for productions and patron services within the Arts Complex. This role is responsible for enforcing production-specific policies set by Resident Partners, as well as venue policies established by Denver Arts &amp; Venues.</p>\n<p>Successful Ushers demonstrate strong judgment in nuanced situations, prioritize patron safety, and consistently deliver a positive guest experience before, during, and after performances.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enforce production-specific guidelines, including but not limited to photography policies, seating holds, and seating breaks</li>\n<li>Confidently and respectfully address patrons when policies are not being followed before, during, or after performances</li>\n<li>Direct patrons attending events, including guiding guests to assigned seats and venue amenities such as restrooms and ATMs</li>\n<li>Provide clear directions in accordance with venue safety policies and procedures</li>\n<li>Perform crowd control duties, including directing both large and small crowds and restraining patrons when required by operational guidelines</li>\n<li>Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules</li>\n<li>Comprehend, direct, and execute emergency procedures, including venue evacuations</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Venues Covered</span></p>\n<p>Team members must be willing and able to work at <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">both</span> venues:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ellie Caulkins Opera House</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Experience</span></p>\n<p>This position includes strenuous physical and situational demands, including but not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to comfortably navigate theaters in dark, quiet environments</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and adapt to redeployment as operational needs require</li>\n<li>Ability to learn and retain seating layouts within multiple theaters</li>\n<li>Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information concisely in time-sensitive situations</li>\n<li>Ability to move quickly or run when required during a shift</li>\n<li>Ability to perform regular patrols throughout a shift</li>\n<li>Tolerance for loud noise and amplified music</li>\n<li>Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds</li>\n<li>Ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods without sitting</li>\n<li>Ability to safely and appropriately intervene with patrons in accordance with established operational guidelines</li>\n<li>Ability to operate ticket scanners, including reading and responding to visual and audible prompts</li>\n<li>Ability to address large groups of patrons effectively amid moderate ambient noise without voice amplification</li>\n<li>Ability to open and close doors, including fire doors, following production-specific and safety guidelines</li>\n<li>Ability to read and comprehend event tickets, event briefing sheets, and other printed materials</li>\n<li>Willingness to perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Situational Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uniform shirts and pants are <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">not provided</span>; uniform shirts must meet established standards</li>\n<li>On-site parking is <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">not free</span> for employees\n<ul>\n<li>Employees may park at one of two discounted employee parking locations within walking distance of the Arts Complex</li>\n<li>Or park on-site at the full event rate</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>",
