At UnityPoint Health, <strong>you </strong>matter. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Blank Children’s Hospital</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Join a pediatric hospitalist team of 14 physicians and 10 nurse practitioners at Blank Children’s Hospital</li>\n <li>182 shifts/year</li>\n <li>Our pediatric hospitalists provide family-centered care for patients from birth through adolescence in two newborn nurseries and a 43-bed general pediatric unit.</li>\n <li>In addition to the main campus in Des Moines, Blank hospitalists also provide support for the pediatrics unit and newborn nursery (level II) at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA. </li>\n <li>You will have a wide variety of pediatric subspecialty support from Blank Health Providers including: pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, neonatology, pediatric surgery and 15 other pediatric subspecialties </li>\n <li>The pediatric hospitalist service provides education for the Blank Children's Pediatric Residency, an ACGME accredited program as well as visiting family practice residents and medical students from the University of Iowa and Des Moines University.</li>\n <li>Blank serves as the only Pediatric Level II Trauma center in the state and is home to a Level II NICU complete with a Pediatric Transport Team, Neonatal Transport Team and in-house transfer center. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Role Overview:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Evaluate and treat patients</li>\n <li>Provide routine care and management of hospitalized patients in a pediatric inpatient and newborn nursery setting</li>\n <li>Document findings in accurate, systematic form and maintains appropriate documentation in the EMR </li>\n <li>Utilize data to identify areas of improvement, monitor progress, and design/implement initiatives which can make a positive impact on the care of newborn or inpatient pediatric patients </li>\n <li>Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, staff, and members of the community from diverse backgrounds</li>\n <li>Provide specialty specific patient-family teaching and counseling based on needs, and in collaboration with the care team</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>MD or DO</li>\n <li>Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Medicine</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa</li>\n <li>Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice</li>\n <li>Eligible to work in the United States </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>We offer:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation package</li>\n <li>A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in. </li>\n <li>Generous time off and CME allowance, malpractice insurance, retirement contributions and more  </li>\n <li>Dedicated provider resources to positively impact providers work-life balance</li>\n <li>Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, including a free third-party service for loan restructuring and consolidation.  </li>\n <li>A commitment to ensuring you have a voice that is heard regardless of role, race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. </li>\n <li>Support and development opportunities that are a crucial part of delivering a remarkable employment experience. </li>\n <li>A culture guided by uncompromising values and unwavering belief in doing what’s right for the people we serve.</li>\n</ul>",
