Job Summary
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse
Compensation: $55.00/hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness
Position Summary The SCI RN provides specialized care for patients with spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions, supporting both acute stabilization and long-term rehabilitation.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring
Administer medications, IV therapy, and specialized treatments
Provide bowel/bladder care and wound management
Assist with mobility, ADLs, and rehabilitation goals
Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
Educate patients and families on long-term care needs
Document care in EHR
Work Environment
Acute SCI unit and long-term care settings
Focus on rehabilitation, complication prevention, and quality of life
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
Active RN license (Ohio or compact state)
Current BLS certification (ACLS required for ICU/ED)
Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience
Strong English communication and documentation skills
Additional Requirements
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Completion of VA-required training (safety, HIPAA, EHR, etc.)
Compliance with credentialing and privileging standards
Ability to float between units as needed
