The duties of this position include: The surgeon is expected to actively participate in the education, research, patient care and administrative programs of the within Pediatric Orthopedics, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation The position actively participates in all aspects of the clinical care of patients as outlined by the Surgeon in Chief for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position reports to (supervisor): Surgeon-in-Chief of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Department Chair of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>As a member of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the OHSU Department of Orthopedics responsibilities and duties are outlined as follows:   </p>\n<li>The clinical director of the division of pediatric orthopedics, and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief will work with you to develop your clinical and operative schedule. Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient and surgical service activities for general orthopedic surgical services at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital, with a specialty focus in your area of interest as agreed with the Department Chair and Doernbecher Surgeon-in-Chief. Experience and interest in all aspect of pediatric orthopedic surgery, with or without an interest in spine is accepted and appreciated. Call: This position will be expected to take call as assigned with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays. </li>\n<li>Education. As OHSU is a teaching facility, instruction of medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures is required. Teaching assignments will be given from the Director of Education for the Department of Orthopedics. </li>\n<li>Research. There are resources available for start-up research and on-going support. </li>\n<li>Administration. Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on needs within the Department of Orthopedics and Doernbecher Children's Hospital and areas of expertise and interest. There will be opportunities to participate in departmental management and to serve on hospital/institutional committees.</li>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Position Conditions/Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent degree/training; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; completion of a Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship. Must be Board Certified, or reach Board Certification approval within one year of hire.
