Apply now and be a part of something extraordinary at Johns Hopkins Intrastaff!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p> \n<ul>\n <li>Apply, adjust, and remove splints, casts, braces, and related orthopedic devices using specialized tools and equipment, including cast cutters, spreaders, bending irons, Zimmer frames, traction carts, fracture tables, and Stryker frames.</li>\n <li>Fabricate casts using materials such as plaster of Paris, fiberglass resin, polyethylene, cotton, and stockinet.</li>\n <li>Assemble, set, and regulate traction units and other specialized orthopedic devices as directed by physicians or residents.</li>\n <li>Remove sutures and staples in accordance with clinical guidelines.</li>\n <li>Fit, adjust, and educate patients on the proper use of medical equipment such as crutches, walkers, and braces.</li>\n <li>Maintain, stock, and manage orthopedic supplies and equipment, including assigned clinical areas and orthopedic traction carts.</li>\n <li>Review and monitor inventory to ensure availability of appropriate, safe, and state-of-the-art orthopedic equipment for all patient populations.</li>\n <li>Communicate courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff, exchanging routine clinical information and escalating sensitive matters as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Perform related duties as required or assigned, utilizing basic analytical skills and working knowledge of splinting and bracing practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED required</li>\n <li>EPIC experience preferred</li>\n <li>Certification as an Orthopaedic Technician/Technologist required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
