This role collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver efficient, compassionate, and patient-centered care. The Paramedic is skilled in emergency response, patient assessment, and therapeutic interventions, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and standards of care.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Performs patient care tasks in a safe, effective, and competent manner, adhering to established standards of care and hospital policies.</li><li>Coordinates patient care with registered nurses (RNs) and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal outcomes.</li><li>Recognizes changes in patient status, promptly communicates observations to the RN, and assists in implementing appropriate interventions.</li><li>Completes accurate and timely documentation to ensure a clear record of the care provided.</li><li>Maintains professional communication with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families, ensuring clarity and empathy in all interactions.</li><li>Safely administers medications in compliance with the five rights of medication administration, utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) scanning to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Facilitates efficient patient throughput within the department, contributing to overall operational effectiveness.</li><li>Provides rapid and effective response during emergencies, utilizing advanced life support techniques and medical interventions as required.</li><li>Operates and maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness and functionality for patient care.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li><li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Technical School graduate of an accredited program in Paramedic Science with current state of employment license/certification required</li><li>0-1 years of EMT-P experience required</li><li>1-2 years of acute care hospital experience preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and advanced life support techniques.</li><li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.</li><li>Ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and delivering exceptional care.</li><li>Competence in operating medical equipment and using EMR systems for documentation.</li></ul><p><strong>Licenses and Certifications</strong></p><ul><li>EMT - Emergency Medical Tech Certification required or</li><li>PARAMEDIC - Paramedic – Licensed with State Registry/Board required</li><li>ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required</li><li>PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>As a core employee with <strong>East Georgia Regional Medical Center</strong>, you will be eligible for competitive base pay, night shift incentives, and a robust total rewards compensation package.
