    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<b>Job Summary</b><br><br>The Director, Finance provides strategic financial leadership and operational oversight for all financial activities at the facility level. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, capital planning, and compliance with regulatory and accounting standards. The Director partners with facility and network leadership to optimize financial performance, support long-term growth, and ensure strong internal controls. This role typically serves as the second most senior financial leader within the facility.<br><br><b>Essential Functions</b><ul><li>Oversees the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of financial statements, reports, and analysis in alignment with organizational policies and accounting standards.</li>\n<li>Leads budgeting and forecasting processes, including the development of annual operating and capital budgets, mid-year updates, and long-range financial plans.</li>\n<li>Conducts financial risk assessments and provides strategic insights and recommendations to support operational decisions and long-term goals.</li>\n<li>Manages general ledger activities, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, income auditing, and accounts payable review.</li>\n<li>Leads and supports initiatives focused on margin improvement, cost containment, and revenue optimization in collaboration with facility leadership.</li>\n<li>Directs month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls, deadlines, and reporting requirements.</li>\n<li>Oversees the capital review and authorization process, ensuring that capital requests are accurately evaluated for need, timing, and return on investment prior to executive review.</li>\n<li>Identifies trends and variances in revenue and expenditures; proposes corrective actions and monitors financial performance against established goals.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n<li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li>\n<li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul><b>Leadership Responsibilities</b><ul><li><b>Supervision and Staff Management</b>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides leadership, mentorship and professional development opportunities for departmental staff.</li>\n<li>Schedules employees to ensure effective use of resources. Consults with leadership on any potential staffing issues.</li>\n<li>Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals and provides feedback to staff on their performance and development.</li>\n</ul></li>\n<li><b>Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight</b>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborates with hospital leadership to set the strategic direction for the department, including budgeting, resource allocation and long-term planning.</li>\n<li>Monitors expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.</li>\n<li>Evaluates and implements new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.</li>\n<li>Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures and protocols to optimize quality and overall efficiencies.</li>\n</ul></li>\n<li><b>Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance</b>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies. May oversee the accreditation process with relevant agencies ensuring that services meet or exceed industry standards.</li>\n<li>Participates in audits, inspections and accreditation processes as applicable.</li>\n<li>Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety.</li>\n</ul></li>\n<li><b>Collaboration and Communication</b>\n<ul>\n<li>Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery.</li>\n<li>Stays up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes.</li>\n</ul></li>\n<li><b>Staff Responsibilities</b>\n<ul>\n<li>May work in a staff role, when required. Ensures that duties and responsibilities are fulfilled while meeting all competencies established for that job.</li>\n</ul></li></ul><b>Qualifications</b><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or</li>\n<li> Seven (7) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required </li>\n<li>Master's Degree  preferred </li><li>3-5 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required </li>\n<li>3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred </li></ul><b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b><ul><li>Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.</li>\n<li>Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively with others, delegate responsibilities, and independently manage tasks while meeting established deadlines.</li>\n<li>Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.</li>\n<li>In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance (if applicable).</li>\n<li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li>\n<li>Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools. </li></ul>\n",
