Provide client care as directed by the Director of Nursing or registered nurse supervisor.</p><p>2. Provide personal care:</p><p>a. Bathing</p><p>b. Grooming, including oral care</p><p>c. Assist the client with dressing and undressing</p><p>Each BrightStar agency and business is independently owned and operated.</p><p>d. Assist the client with toileting activities</p><p>e. Assist in feeding the client, if necessary, including feeding clients who are unable to feed themselves.</p><p>f. Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)</p><p>g. Measure and record height and weight, if necessary.</p><p>h. Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e. turn and reposition client, actively encourage movement)</p><p>i. Assist client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care</p><p>j. Provide client with help walking and transferring</p><p>k. Observe client&rsquo;s physical, mental and emotional conditions</p><p>a. Report any change to the Director of Nursing or nursing supervisor</p><p>b. Document observed changes</p><p>l. Measure and document intake and output, if necessary</p><p>m. Assist client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminder)</p><p>n. Perform light housekeeping</p><p>o. Perform meal preparation and clean up</p><p>p. Change bed linens and make up the client&rsquo;s bed</p><p>q. Maintain an orderly client environment.</p><p>r. Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.</p><p>s. Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.</p><p>t. Provide transport to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping.</p><p>u. Assist in providing a safe environment and promote quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures and standards.</p><p>8. Ensure client&rsquo;s rights are adhered to. These include but are not limited to:</p><p>a. the right to privacy and dignity while care is being provided</p><p>b. the right to accept or refuse care</p><p>c. the right to confidentiality of their information</p><p>9. Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation 10. Use equipment properly and in a safe manner.</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>1. High school diploma</p><p>2. Successful completion of a nursing assistant program</p><p>3. Certification as a CNA</p><p>4. Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience (unless participating in approved Mentor Program).</p><p>5. Certified in CPR</p><p>6. Current physical or T.B./PPD test, if applicable</p><p>7. Licensed driver with reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with the organization&rsquo;s requirements.</p><p>8. Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision</p><p>9. Empathy for the needs of the client</p><p>10. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively</p><p>11. Treats clients, staff and the public with courtesy, respect and presents a positive public image.</p><p>12. Works as a team member.</p><p>13. Ensures confidentiality and security of the client&rsquo;s medical information.</p><p>Job Limitations:</p><p>The Nursing Assistant will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the State&rsquo;s Nurse Practice Act.
