The Senior Cabling Installation Technician primary responsibilities include directing and leading a crew, as well as participating in the installation of premise network cabling systems at stateside and overseas offices.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform the installation, labeling and testing of premise cabling, connections, patch cords, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, PDS conduit and associated hardware. </li>\n <li>Update cable run sheets and other documentation as required.</li>\n <li>Serve as the subject matter expert in reading and interpreting system installation drawings and design packages.</li>\n <li>Promote a safe work environment and implement safe work practices.</li>\n <li>Provide guidance and perform quality assurance checks for subordinate cabling personnel in the installation, of LC, MTRJ, SC and RJ45 connector termination, and testing of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems, as well as various types of cable tray, PDS, and Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) conduit up to 4 inches. Able to fusion splice fiber optic cable.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel as needed to meet project requirements.</li>\n <li>A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the installation of copper and fiber-optic cable plants is required.</li>\n <li>Be highly proficient in the installation and testing of premise cabling, connections, patch cords, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, PDS conduit, and associated hardware.</li>\n <li>Must be proficient in the techniques for fusion splicing, termination and outside plant installation.</li>\n <li>Understand how to interpret work orders and prints to determine what is required per project.</li>\n <li>Be proficient in the use of splicing technology such as OTDRs, VFL, OLTS.</li>\n <li>Be proficient in the proper handling and installation of LC, MTRJ, SC, RJ45 connector terminations, and testing of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems.</li>\n <li>Be proficient in the installation of various types of cable tray, PDS, and Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) conduit up to 4 inches. </li>\n <li>Possess experience with access points, repeaters, data center, computer lab, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), direct access storage drive, mainframe, open systems and switches/routers.</li>\n <li>Be capable of leading and instructing a team of cabling technicians, and properly documenting any red-line changes to drawing packages.</li>\n <li>Be an effective communicator in coordinating installation work with subordinates and with office personnel.</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid Driver’s License</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Technician, BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) and BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) certification are highly desirable. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This is a talent pipeline opening.  </strong><strong>We are building a network of qualified talent for general consideration of future job openings. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>GLOTECH, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>",
