    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>&nbsp;This position is open to candidates in Austin, TX&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Position Overview&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Fiber Maintenance Technician will serve as the single point of contact for all OSP Maintenance activities across Texas. This includes responding to and managing all outages and coordinating resources to ensure FiberLight&rsquo;s assets are restored safely, efficiently and effectively.</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Manage and maintain fiber network to achieve company and customer satisfaction</li><li>Lead all outage / maintenance activities within assigned Work Zone</li><li>On-Call rotation requirements</li><li>Track all maintenance activities and associated costs within the assigned Work Zone</li><li>Provide back-office support by utilizing 3GIS / FMS to pinpoint outages based on ISP, NOC, or Customer-provided OTDR readings</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>5 years of Telecom OSP Construction</li><li>Fiber Splicing: testing &amp; isolation</li><li>Proficient w/PCs, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc)</li><li>Current valid driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>Travel throughout Texas</li></ul><p><strong>Other Skills/Abilities</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Ability to understand mapping programs and key identifiers in a fiber optic network, read and utilize GPS units and record network positioning</li><li>Strong negotiations skills as we continue to streamline our OSP vendor list</li><li>Knowledge of &ldquo;Call Before You Dig&rdquo; rules and regulations as they apply to a network utility provider</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations as they apply to locating and providing repair and maintenance within a fiber optic network</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel and reach</li><li>Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English</li><li>Must have visual acuity</li><li>Must be able to lift 0-25 pounds</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
