The position also includes some weekend and holiday shifts.)</p><p><strong>Location</strong>: Bedford VA, 24523</p><p><em>Compensation dependent on experience&nbsp;</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Position Summary</u></strong></p><p>The Residential Technician functions as part of the clinical team in a recovery-oriented treatment setting. Staff provide the necessary supports to individuals who are working toward recovery from substance abuse and/or mental health symptoms. The Residential Technician monitors an adult residential environment by providing supervision to individuals, therapeutic activities, accurate documentation, and crisis management.</p><p><strong><u>Required Education and Experience</u></strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma / GED</li><li>No professional experience required &ndash; an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is required. &nbsp; Prefer one year of relevant experience with the assigned client population.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>Ability to use independent discretion for the purpose of representing the organization in public and private settings.</li><li>Ability to work productively and accomplish program and individual goals with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to record data accurately within established expectations and by communicated deadlines.</li><li>Ability to locate and interpret facts and make decisions based on established procedures and protocols.</li><li>Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.</li><li>Ability to identify triggers and effectively de-escalate crisis situations.</li><li>Ability to work in and maintain appropriate personal and clinical boundaries.</li><li>Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.</li><li>Ability to drive and must possess a valid Virginia driver&rsquo;s license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite, transport clients, provide services to clients at other locations.
