Description
Our client, who is a solar energy and renewable solutions company, is seeking a reliable and professional Truck Driver to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting solar equipment, tools, and materials to and from project sites, warehouses, and supplier locations. The Truck Driver ensures timely, secure, and efficient deliveries while maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent condition and complying with all traffic and safety regulations. This role plays a key part in supporting project logistics and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Load and unload solar equipment and materials such as solar panels, batteries, mounting structures, and inverters. Deliver cargo to project sites, offices, or partner locations according to schedule. Ensure all cargo is properly secured, protected from damage, and accounted for during transit. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness. Maintain the vehicle in clean and roadworthy condition, including checking fuel, oil, brakes, and tires. Report any mechanical issues, damage, or accidents promptly to the supervisor. Schedule and track routine servicing and preventive maintenance of the vehicle. Adhere strictly to road safety rules, traffic laws, and company driving policies. Ensure proper documentation during transport, including delivery notes, waybills, and checklists. Coordinate with warehouse and site supervisors to confirm dispatch times and load requirements. Assist warehouse staff with inventory and loading tasks when not on delivery runs. Maintain clear communication with the team regarding road conditions, delays, or delivery updates. Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in all assigned duties. Requirements Valid heavy-duty or commercial truck driving license. Secondary school education or equivalent. Certification in defensive driving or road safety is preferred. At least five to ten years of experience operating commercial or heavy-duty trucks, preferably in a logistics, construction, or renewable energy environment. Good understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and basic troubleshooting. Proven knowledge of road safety, traffic laws, and best practices for transporting sensitive or heavy materials. Ability to load, secure, and offload cargo safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with warehouse and site teams. High level of reliability, responsibility, and punctuality. Willingness to work flexible hours or travel long distances when required.
