Over decades, our team has expanded its capabilities to include economic studies, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, site management, commissioning, industrial programming, closure and reclamation of mine sites, and more.<br><br>To support our continued growth, we are seeking an <strong>Electrical Engineer</strong> to join our team in <strong>Terrace, British Columbia</strong>. In this role, you will help lead the design and optimization of electrical power distribution and control systems for both greenfield and brownfield mining and heavy industrial projects.</p><hr><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Apply electrical engineering expertise from conceptual design and studies through to project completion.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Lead design efforts for electrical power distribution and control systems in industrial environments, including hazardous locations.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Prepare and review specifications and datasheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers and electrical equipment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Conduct power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash) using tools such as ETAP or EasyPower.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Integrate safety, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis into all aspects of system design.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Develop electrical distribution, motor control, grounding, lighting, and cable support system designs.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Perform engineering calculations and manage technical decisions with input from senior leaders.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Conduct industrial site reviews, field verifications, and client site visits as required.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across offices to support seamless project delivery.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Prepare technical reports, construction specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Mentor junior staff and contribute to developing team capability and technical excellence.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, solutions‑oriented service.&nbsp;</li></ul><hr><p><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">5+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial projects.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in BC; eligibility for other jurisdictions is an asset.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Working knowledge of CSA, ANSI, IEEE standards and applicable codes.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Proficiency in power system modelling software and electrical design tools.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Ability to design distribution systems, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, fire alarm, heat tracing and cathodic protection systems.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Experience attending industrial sites and complying with safety regulations.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Beneficial experience across mills, smelters, mines, refineries, ports, pulp and paper, industrial plants or renewable energy systems.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, automation, PLC/DCS/HMI systems and modelling tools is an asset.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Valid driver’s licence.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Strong writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Ability to work collaboratively within a project team environment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">French language skills are an asset.</li></ul><hr><p><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong><br>We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
