    "jobDescription": "<p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Posting End Date</b></p>06-15-2026<p style=\"text-align:left\">Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Summary </b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>Install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises.<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Description</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>Meter Electrician C:</b></p><p></p><p></p><p><b>What You&#39;ll Do:</b></p><ul><li>Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing</li><li>Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters</li><li>Test single phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracy</li><li>Program meters</li><li>Perform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment</li><li>Investigate irregular usage</li><li>Investigate energy diversion</li><li>Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures</li><li>Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment</li><li>Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports</li><li>Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What We&#39;re Looking For:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Education/Experience Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology</li><li>or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience of four years.</li><li>Qualified backgrounds include substation, metering, instrumentation, controls, power systems, or electrical maintenance, with demonstrated hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and working with electrical equipment.</li><li>Examples include roles such as Meter Specialist, Meter Technician, Field Network Technician, or substation field personnel, as well as comparable military or industrial technical training.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:</b></p><ul><li>State Driver License.</li><li>Must possess and maintain a medical certification card, if determined to be required by law.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Other Requirements:</b></p><p></p><ul><li>Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company&#39;s training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.</li><li>Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.</li><li>Work late shifts as needed.</li><li>Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner</li><li>Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position.</li><li>Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.</li><li>Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the general public.</li><li>Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct.</li><li>Report hazards and abnormal conditions.</li><li>Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.</li><li>There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Drive Time Requirement</b>: </p><ul><li><p>Successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate within 45 miles of the Minerva Annex Service Center (5001 Westerville Rd.
