    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>OBXtek is seeking several mid-level Termination Contract Specialists. The specialist will provide expert guidance on the procedural, legal, and operational requirements for terminating contracts, ensuring compliance with USAID and U.S. Government regulations. This is a hybrid, full-time role in Washington DC area, working closely with Contracting Officers (COs), legal counsel, technical offices, and partners. </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advise on terminations for convenience or default of contracts. Individuals must have demonstrated abilities to assimilate and apply knowledge on all types of award mechanisms quickly and efficiently.</li>\n <li>Prepare all required documentation for award terminations, including termination notices, determinations and findings, negotiation memoranda, and settlement agreements.</li>\n <li>Interpret and apply applicable sections of the FAR and USAID supplemental regulations and policies.</li>\n <li>Process actions in USAID’s contracts and financial management system.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel, technical teams, and implementing partners to manage the termination process.</li>\n <li>Assess financial, contractual, and programmatic implications of terminations and recommend risk mitigation strategies.</li>\n <li>Ensure post-termination actions, including audits, final payments, and closeouts, are completed in compliance with USAID policy.</li>\n <li>Develop guidance, templates, and training materials to strengthen USAID’s institutional approach to award terminations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work on-site 3 days per week</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>FAC-C Professional or CFCM certification is required.</strong></li>\n <li>At least 5 years’ of experience in US government contract management with at least 1 year of experience terminating contracts and negotiating termination settlements.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Business.</li>\n <li>Contract requires candidates with no USAID experience.</li>\n <li>Capability to quickly assimilate new information and become proficient in topics for which they may not have knowledge, e.g. Government to Government, Title II, Interagency Awards, and Public International Organizations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Security Clearance</h2>Public Trust\n<h2>Company Information</h2>\n<p>Headquartered in McLean, Virginia and founded in 2009, OBXtek is a fast-growing leader in the government contracting field.
