          "text": "<p>AECOM is seeking a <strong>Travel Demand Modeler </strong>to join our Arlington, VA office, supporting a diverse portfolio of transportation planning and modeling projects across the Mid-Atlantic and nationwide.</p><p>This role is suited for an early-career professional interested in developing technical expertise in travel demand modeling, data analysis, and modeling-related software tools. You will work within a collaborative team of approximately 10 modelers, supporting senior staff and contributing to model development, analysis, and project delivery.</p><p>We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in dynamic traffic modeling or Activity-Based Modeling (ABM), along with a demonstrated curiosity for coding and software development, including exposure to Python and/or C++.</p><p>This is a hybrid work position, with flexibility depending on project needs.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support the development, calibration, validation, and application of travel demand models (trip-based and/or activity-based)</li><li>Assist in implementing and maintaining travel demand models and related tools</li><li>Support application of mode choice models and discrete choice frameworks</li><li>Contribute to analyses using dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) and multimodal modeling approaches</li><li>Assist with data preparation, model inputs, and performance evaluation</li><li>Support troubleshooting of model runs and assist in resolving technical issues</li><li>Help ensure quality, consistency, and reproducibility of modeling outputs</li><li>Contribute to integration of modeling tools, scripts, and workflows</li><li>Assist senior staff with technical documentation, reports, and presentations</li><li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, and analysts</li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p>",

          "text": "<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation Planning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field</li><li>Basic programming experience in Python, R, C++, or similar languages</li><li>Experience working with Excel and data analysis techniques</li><li>Exposure to GIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in a related field</li><li>Relevant experience, including internships or academic research</li><li>Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills</li><li>Exposure to travel demand modeling tools</li><li>Interest in developing coding and analytical skills</li><li>Academic or project exposure to Activity-Based Models (ABM) and/or Dynamic traffic modeling or network analysis</li><li>Familiarity with or interest in COG/TPB travel demand models (Gen2 or Gen3) or travel modeling applications for MPOs or DOTs</li><li>Learning or using C++ for modeling applications</li><li>Writing efficient, well-structured code</li><li>Exposure to Big data sources (RITIS, StreetLight, Replica, TomTom), visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure)</li><li>Interest in modeling workflows, automation, and emerging tools</li></ul>",
