    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary: </strong>The Hospital Director of Pharmacy is responsible for leading and managing the hospital's pharmacy department.&nbsp; This role involves ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients while complying with all applicable regulations and standards.&nbsp;The Hospital Director of Pharmacy will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care provided.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Education, License &amp; Cert:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from and ACPE accredited institution required.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Current Licensure as a pharmacist in the state of New York for New York based hospitals and/or in the state of Pennsylvania for Pennsylvania based hospitals.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Experience:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Minimum of 5 years of progressive pharmacy experience in hospital pharmacy practice, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.&nbsp; Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy services, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement. &nbsp;Must exercise judgment affecting patients’ care and direct pharmacy personnel.&nbsp; Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with medical and nursing staffs.&nbsp;</p><p>A Hospital Director of Pharmacy should personify strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and be able to show proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Leadership and Management:<ul><li>Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including staff management, budgeting, and inventory control, which includes adequate control and documentation for purchase, inventory and record keeping of controlled substances.</li><li>Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to ensure high standards of cost-effective pharmaceutical care.</li><li>Develop strategic departmental goals in alignment with organizational goals and accountability for those goals.&nbsp;</li><li>Mentor, train, and evaluate performance of pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.</li><li>Ensures maintenance of an adequate drug supply.</li></ul></li><li>Clinical and Pharmaceutical Services:<ul><li>Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to patients.</li><li>Collaborate with the medical staff to develop and implement medication therapy management programs.</li><li>Monitor patient medication regimens and provide clinical consultations to healthcare providers.</li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and committees to enhance patient care.</li></ul></li><li>Regulatory Compliance:<ul><li>Maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to pharmacy practice.</li><li>Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and guidelines (e.g. The Joint Commission, Leapfrog, etc.)&nbsp;</li><li>Conducting regular audits and reviews of pharmacy practices and procedures.</li><li>Establishes systems that ensure confidentiality of patient information.</li></ul></li><li>Quality Improvement:&nbsp;<ul><li>Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and medication-use processes.</li><li>Analyze data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans.&nbsp;</li><li>Promote and participate in research and educational activities related to pharmacy practice.</li></ul></li><li>Other Duties:<ul><li>Performs staff pharmacist duties as well as own duties as necessary.&nbsp; Fulfills on-call obligations per pre-arranged schedule.&nbsp;Performs other duties as may be assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Other Duties:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Travel for this position is sometimes required.</p><p>Participation in community and employee engagement activities is required.</p><p>It is understood that this description is not intended to be all‐inclusive and that other duties may be assigned as necessary in the performance of this position.</p><p>Pay range min $71.05/hr max $111.53/hr</p>",
