    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: inherit\">This position provides instruction and support for participants in the Kids After School Time Program. An incumbent in this position may be designated \"Lead Counselor,\" depending on qualifications and experience.</span></p>\n<p><br>Major Job Duties:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in and/or leads activities and programming for children and provides appropriate supervision.</li>\n<li>(Lead Counselors provide direction to Counselors with respect to the above).</li>\n<li>Resolves behavioral issues.</li>\n<li>Completes assigned administrative tasks.</li>\n<li>Cleans and organizes program facilities.</li>\n<li>Maintains supply inventories.</li>\n<li>Enforces program safety policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Performs related duties.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.<br> </li>\n<li>Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Knowledge and Skills Required:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of town and department policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of program policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of first-aid principles.</li>\n<li>Skill in planning and organizing children's programming.</li>\n<li>Skill in interpersonal relations.</li>\n<li>Skill in oral and written communication.</li>\n</ul>",
