    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain & Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Team in San Carlos, CA. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will lead the design and development of manufacturing equipment for Joby Aviation's battery modules, working closely with a cross-functional team. This individual must be highly organized and self-driven, with a deep understanding of mechanical, process, and industrial engineering fundamentals, to successfully scale projects from prototype to low-volume production while maintaining a vision for high-volume production. This position is exciting and rewarding, as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will see their ideas quickly influence many key areas at Joby Aviation due to the fast-paced environment. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Direct and/or participate in program-level strategy decisions</li>\n <li>Lead cross-functional work with Product Design and Test teams on process/equipment/tool development.</li>\n <li>Own and improve existing production workstations, tools, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Directly collaborate with the Production team to support training</li>\n <li>Own design of new tools, equipment, and processes for upcoming projects.</li>\n <li>Author Manufacturing Execution System (MES) procedures for the production team to use.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent</li>\n <li>6+ years of relevant industry experience</li>\n <li>Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Passion for diving into the details and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Proactive, driven, and a self-starter personality</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment such as 14 CFR Part 21, ISO9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, or equivalent</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $98,400 - $164,700/yr.
