Description
Take the next step in your career in our new Urgent Crisis Center for Children.
Background :
The (new) Urgent Crisis Center (UCC) is a walk-in, crisis stabilization program designed to triage, stabilize, and assess youth who are experiencing psychiatric crises, and then link the youth/family to a lower level of care within the community. This is a fast-paced environment that operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the UCC clinician is providing mental health services to individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral problems, including those with chronic mental illness or substance abuse problems, assessing client's needs and ensuring they receive appropriate treatment, establishing a therapeutic relationship with the youth and family to help them identify problems, set goals, and develop plans to achieve those goals, documenting in medical records and providing crisis intervention services, including assessing risk of harm to self or others, and providing follow-up and discharge services
Annual Salary: $65-$75K DOE plus $5K sign-on/retention bonus
Schedule : Full time 40 hours/week
We are seeking fully licensed Clinicians to support children during all three shifts.
Flexible Schedules to meet the demand of our clients, Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday.
Location: on-site in Waterbury, Free parking.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide comprehensive crisis evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of children, adolescents and families who present to the Urgent Crisis Center. To assess and implement crisis stabilization plans that include immediate tasks for crisis management and connection to clinically indicated resources and services. To provide community-based outreach and treatment services as defined by the treatment plan and/or client needs To complete clinical documentation thoroughly within required timelines to ensure appropriate and ethical care. Respond to any feedback or revisions in a timely fashion to ensure ongoing compliance with agency and regulatory standards. Maintain contact and provide follow-up with families requiring this service including phone and collaborative support. Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents, including but not limited to insurance and/or managed care required documentation. Maintain a level of productivity as determined by the program supervisor. To assist program management or agency leadership with assigned tasks or projects that develop to support the communities we serve. To work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties involved in cases. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention. Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred. Cultural competency to serve a diverse population. Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy. Extensive experience working with culturally diverse populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations. Knowledge of behavioral health, child welfare systems, and community resources. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Master’s Degree in marriage and family therapy, social work or related human services field with at least a one-year clinical internship working with children and/or adolescents or families is required. At least two years of post-graduate clinical experience working with children, and adolescents in an outpatient setting is preferred. Crisis, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health unit, work experience is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must have a CT license as a mental health provider, from the state of Connecticut, Department of Public Health; LCSW, LPC, LMFT.
