Position Summary The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist supports GSA’s national safety program by providing expert guidance, policy interpretation, and oversight across a nationwide portfolio. This role serves as a subject matter expert in occupational safety, compliance, and risk management while supporting inspections, training, and program development. Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on occupational safety, hazard control, and regulatory compliance Serve as SME across safety areas including construction, electrical, fall protection, PPE, and hazard analysis Conduct inspections, investigations, and risk assessments; develop corrective action plans Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures Review construction and project plans to ensure safety compliance Develop and deliver safety policies, guidance, and training programs Support national safety program tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement Represent GSA in meetings with agencies, regulators, and stakeholders Maintain safety data, records, and compliance with federal standards Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or related field 5+ years of experience in occupational safety and health Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and compliance frameworks Ability to analyze hazards, interpret technical documents, and recommend solutions Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred: Professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM) Experience with construction safety and complex facility environments Why Choose MIRACORP?
