You will contribute to teams in the delivery of mechanical systems, electrical systems and substation solutions through planning, engineering, & design. Our Engineers are responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented professional, working collaboratively within a team environment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is based in NV5’s <strong>San Diego, CA</strong> office. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Join us in embracing innovative solutions that drive efficiency and resilience in Power Delivery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Other Responsibilities include:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Follow and be responsive to budgets and schedules; identify departures or issues early to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule</li>\n <li>Acting as the lead engineer on projects or technical project manager. Making important decisions and executing work without the need of oversight.</li>\n <li>Perform work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Will be assigned to project teams and may make major design recommendations</li>\n <li>Coordinate all design work with other team disciplines (survey, design, engineering, civil)</li>\n <li>Design, manage, and assist in production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and quantity takeoffs</li>\n <li>Provide quality assurance checks on drawing packages and calculations prepared by others prior to release.</li>\n <li>Interpret and apply client, company, and industry standards as needed</li>\n <li>Demonstrate proficient knowledge of appropriate local codes and industry standards</li>\n <li>Analyze and solve construction and operational problems</li>\n <li>Assist in the preparation of proposals for new work via scope and fee development</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We are seeking the following qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as Civil or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>MS Degree in relevant field is preferred. </li>\n <li>Must be familiar with and keep up to date with industry codes and standards (such as GO95, NESC, IEEE, ASCE).</li>\n <li>8+ years’ experience in consulting engineering or utility design, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering</li>\n <li>Excellent knowledge of relevant industry software used for design, modeling and calculations, as well as knowledge of PLS-CADD for appropriate electrical roles</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>The pay range for this California position is $145,000- $175,000 annual salary; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location.
