Intertek's project-related assurance, testing, inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability, safety and performance of your new developments, existing assets and facilities.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The <strong>Field Technician</strong> will support the Building and Construction business by leading a crew and managing your own projects performing field testing. &nbsp;We’re looking for experienced individuals in the construction or testing industry; <strong>on the job training</strong> is provided. This position provides opportunity for growth and development within the department and company.&nbsp; Some basic project management and leadership skills preferred.&nbsp;Company provided vehicles for travel to and from job sites. This job requires travel most weeks (overnight and/or locally) Monday through Friday.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shift/Schedule:</strong> Monday – Friday with travel most weeks. 1<sup>st</sup> shift with occasional project requiring 2<sup>nd</sup> shift. Employees paid for all travel time.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead field testing projects, data collection and report writing</li><li>Setting up for testing including rough carpentry work to construct test chambers</li><li>Running equipment on the interior of the buildings and working with customers while testing occurs.</li><li>Operating high reach lift equipment (boom lifts, supported and suspended scaffolding)</li><li>Assisting with forensic investigations of building envelope failures (isolation work on exterior)</li><li>Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations and test preparation on all projects assigned&nbsp;</li><li>Provide project planning once on site for needed elements such as water, electricity and access by communicating with clients and project team&nbsp;</li><li>Expected to travel with overnight stays (company covers all travel expenses plus per diem)&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to perform physical work relevant to areas of responsibility and as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED Equivalent</li><li>2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, building envelope or fenestration</li><li>Ability to learn the building envelope including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, roofing, etc. and their installation means and methods</li><li>Working knowledge of test methods and standards associated with testing of these systems <strong>or</strong> the ability to learn and comprehend these standards</li><li>Aptitude for working independently and leading a crew on assigned projects&nbsp;</li><li>Technical competency and ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers, both in writing and orally&nbsp;</li><li>Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain good rapport with clients and subcontractors&nbsp;</li><li>Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet changing priorities and strict deadlines&nbsp;</li><li>Good computer skills – Microsoft Office &amp; Outlook</li><li>Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc.</li><li>Ability to routinely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull as needed</li><li>Willingness to travel (locally and/or overnight) 75% of the time or more</li><li>Valid driver's license and a clean driving record&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>Preferred Requirements and Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Associates or higher preferred (related field preferred)</li></ul><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
