    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>\n<p>The primary purpose of the Emergency Medical Services Supervisor is to provide for the orderly operation of the EMS system, respond to incidents requiring an EMS Supervisor for problem solving or decision making, complete all required reports and documentation, enforce operational policies and procedures, observe and evaluate employee performance, provide pre-hospital First Responder Basic Life Support (BLS) in all weather conditions, provide leadership and direction to EMS Personnel,consider, meet, and exceed the expectations of customers and patients of all ages and from all populations while using age and population appropriate equipment and techniques and while actively seeking other assigned duties to support efficient EMS operations and represent UH, and EMS in a positive and professional manner.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong>  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure the orderly and efficient operation of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system</li>\n <li>Respond to incidents requiring supervisory-level problem solving and decision-making</li>\n <li>Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and timely</li>\n <li>Enforce EMS operational policies, procedures, and standards</li>\n <li>Observe, monitor, and evaluate employee performance</li>\n <li>Provide pre-hospital First Responder Basic Life Support (BLS) care in all weather conditions</li>\n <li>Deliver leadership, guidance, and direction to EMS personnel</li>\n <li>Meet and exceed the expectations of patients and customers of all ages and populations</li>\n <li>Utilize age- and population-appropriate equipment and clinical techniques</li>\n <li>Perform additional assigned duties to support effective EMS operations</li>\n <li>Represent University Hospital (UH) and the EMS department in a positive, professional manner</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of four (4) years of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience</li>\n <li>Minimum of two (2) years of EMS driving experience with a good driving record</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with New Jersey driving privileges</li>\n <li>Ability to successfully pass a medical evaluation and respirator fit test</li>\n <li>Ability to wear an N95 particulate filter respirator in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment</li>\n <li>Spanish language proficiency is preferred</li>\n <li>Prior experience in an urban EMS environment is preferred</li>\n <li>Must possess and maintain current, active credentials in good standing as an EMT, Paramedic, or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (as applicable), verified through Primary Source Verification</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Required Credentials:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in NJ, PA, NY, DE, MD, VA, WV, Washington, D.C., or another Atlantic EMS Council state\n  <ul>\n   <li>NJ EMT reciprocity must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary periodOR</li>\n   <li>Certification as a New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers</li>\n <li>For MICP or MICN only:\n  <ul>\n   <li>AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider or</li>\n   <li>AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider or</li>\n   <li>Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals – Advanced (PEPP-A) Provider</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Provider or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)\n  <ul>\n   <li>Candidates without this credential must obtain it within the first year of employment or promotion</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Incident Command System (ICS) Level 200</li>\n <li>Incident Command System (ICS) Level 300\n  <ul>\n   <li>Must be obtained within the first year of employment or promotion if not already held</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Required Courses (at time of hire or promotion):</p>\n<ul>\n <li>EMS Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level</li>\n <li>National Incident Management System (NIMS) Awareness</li>\n <li>National Response Plan: An Introduction</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical & Prescription Drug Coverage</li>\n <li>Dental & Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li>\n <li>Short- & Long-Term Disability Insurance</li>\n <li>Pension Plan</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li>\n <li>Professional Development</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>\n<p>In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is WH/23C $32.27- $49.35 per hour.
