As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Right now we’re looking for a <strong>Registered Practical Nurse </strong>to work in our <strong>Mother and Baby Unit.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Part-time <strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> Manager, Mother and Baby Unit and Obstetrical Clinics<strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> $38.893 - $39.458<strong>Union Group: </strong> NOWU<strong>Hours of work:</strong> Rotating shifts, 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends</p>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Hennick Humber Hospital – Wilson Site</p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registered Practical Nursing duties as outlined by the College of Ontario Nurses.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care</li>\n <li>Professional, patient-centred care to ensure patient safety and physiological and psychological well-being</li>\n <li>Providing care in a compassionate and caring manner within a diverse cultural environment.</li>\n <li>Responding to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient's health status and consulting appropriately when necessary using transfer of accountability principles</li>\n <li>Providing health teaching to patients and families including thorough discharge instructions to ensure the continuity of care in the community.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.</li>\n <li>Current RPN registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario</li>\n <li>Recent experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years postpartum experience in Canadian hospital required</li>\n <li>Current BCLS certification required</li>\n <li>Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate or proof of enrollment before probationary date of hired required</li>\n <li>Completion of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario breastfeeding e-learning course required or completion within 3 months of hire</li>\n <li>Obstetrics Nursing certificate is an asset </li>\n <li>Perinatal Bereavement knowledge and PAIL Network workshop</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate adherence to the hospital’s code of conduct.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, Newborn blood collection , Blood Transfusion, Medication Administration, etc.</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of community resources.</li>\n <li>Proven attendance record. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
