Stellar Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer (MBSE) (Journeyman) to support a U.S. Space Force mission planning capability used today by U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy warfighters. This role applies Model-Based Systems Engineering practices to translate operational needs into actionable technical artifacts, sustain system models, and support lifecycle planning. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented systems engineer who can work across technical teams, program stakeholders, and documentation environments to strengthen mission delivery and long-term sustainment. Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications This role supports the development, sustainment, and modernization of a mission planning tool by applying MBSE, requirements analysis, lifecycle planning, and knowledge management practices. The Systems Engineer will help maintain consistency between design, implementation, configuration, and sustainment activities while producing clear artifacts that support program decisions. The role requires initiative, strong communication, and the ability to organize complex system information for both technical and non-technical audiences. Key responsibilities include: Apply MBSE principles to support complex system sustainment, upgrades, and lifecycle management Use MBSE tools such as Cameo to interpret and update system models, including SysML diagrams Develop and manage system requirements, traceability, model element relationships, and reports that support program decisions Perform requirements analysis, synthesis, and traceability for shall statements and supplemental fields, including test methods and success criteria Develop and maintain a Life Cycle Sustainment Plan aligned to program objectives and long-term support strategies Support knowledge management practices by organizing and maintaining technical documentation Maintain documentation within Confluence and Git-based repositories Support configuration management activities across system changes, configurations, and operational impacts Work across the system lifecycle to maintain alignment between design, implementation, and sustainment activities Communicate complex system information in clear, actionable artifacts for technical and non-technical audiences Anticipate needs, take initiative, and contribute improvement ideas that strengthen team execution Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of experience in MBSE Experience applying MBSE principles to support complex system sustainment, upgrades, and lifecycle management Experience performing requirements analysis, synthesis, and traceability for shall statement and supplemental fields evaluation, including test method and success criteria Experience with knowledge management, configuration management, and LCSP creation, including for IT programs Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project management Ability to use MBSE tools such as Cameo Ability to interpret and update system models, including SysML diagrams, to reflect system changes, configurations, and operational impacts Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels Desired Qualifications Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Confluence and Jira Experience with cloud services and cloud-native architecture patterns Experience working with or architecting solutions in AWS Experience working as a software or systems engineering and integration lead, including cradle to grave Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project Strong communication skills Clearance & Additional Requirements Secret clearance TS/SCI clearance preferred Ability to work onsite at Peterson Space Force Base Location This position is full-time, on site in Colorado Springs (Peterson SFB) Compensation The typical salary range for this position is USD $120,000 - $141,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan, and other benefits, all in addition to salary. Deliverable(s) Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
