This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of various programs and activities that foster personal and academic growth, character development, and healthy living among children. </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">For our 2025-2026 aftercare program, we are looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and nurturing afterschool counselor. This key role involves supervising and engaging with campers to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and enriching afterschool experience.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Program Assistance:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of programs and activities designed to promote the physical, emotional, and social development of club members.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with other staff members to create a dynamic and engaging program schedule.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Supervise and actively participate in club activities to ensure the safety and well-being of all club members.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Member Engagement:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Build positive relationships with club members by being a role model and mentor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued and included.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Encourage club members to participate in programs and engage in learning activities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Behavior Management:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist in maintaining a positive behavior management system that reinforces club rules and expectations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Address any behavioral issues or conflicts appropriately and in line with club policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Promote a respectful and inclusive environment for all club members.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Academic Support:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist with homework help and educational activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Encourage academic achievement and provide support for members to reach their educational goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work closely with staff to monitor and track the academic progress of club members.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Safety and Health:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensure the safety and well-being of club members at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Adhere to safety protocols, emergency procedures, and club policies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Documentation and Reporting:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and incidents.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Report any concerns or incidents to the project director.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">High school diploma or equivalent. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience working with children in a structured setting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Commitment to promoting the values and mission of the Boys and Girls Club.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Basic knowledge of child development principles.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must have experience  working with children</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Additional Requirements Upon Hire:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">At least two professional reference.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Staff Health Examination Form.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mantoux Test date and results.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Examination date.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Fingerprinting information and Identogo receipt (required for candidates 18 and older).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Two forms of ID, one of which must be a Social Security Number.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Training &amp; Compensation:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paid training provided to prepare for the role.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals in this position.
