    "description_html": "<p>Texas Biomed is searching for an <strong>Animal Caretaker in the Research Support</strong> Group. The successful candidate must be able to provide daily care for research animals in the ABSL2 and ABSL3 facilities including feeding, watering, cleaning and health checks.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>Provides all aspects of primate husbandry including non-human primate environmental enrichment</p><p>Collects and enters animal data into database</p><p>Applies tattoos, dye, or other identification method to various species</p><p>Collects and/or delivers laboratory samples for analysis</p><p>Maintains storeroom/supplies</p><p>Observes, documents and reports animal health, behavior, and interactions both normal and abnormal</p><p>Restrains animals using proper techniques for the species</p><p>Working in the ABSL2 and ABSL3 requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment for prolonged period of time</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Our Ideal Candidate</strong></p><p>· High school diploma or GED required · Animal experience and/or bachelors degree in related field preferred.</p><p>· AALAS Certification at the ALAT level preferred.</p><p>· Must have valid driver’s license and meet Texas Biomed driving standards.</p><p>· Available to work Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm with rotating schedule covering some weekends and holidays</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Who We Are:</strong></p><p>Join our incredible mission to pave the way for a world free from the fear of infectious disease!</p><p><br></p><p>Texas Biomedical Research Institute is pioneering and sharing scientific research to protect you, your families, and our global community from the threat of infectious diseases.
