By blending classroom learning with real-world practice, our programs give students the confidence and skills they need to achieve their goals.</p><p>Now, we're looking for a passionate, caring, and proactive Residence Advisor to help make EF Toronto a home away from home for our students.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As a Residence Advisor, you'll live onsite at one of EF Toronto’s student residences, acting as a key part of our housing and student life team. You will play a hands-on role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for international students aged 16+. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, community-driven, highly responsible, and thrives in multicultural environments.</p><p>This is more than just a housing role — it’s a chance to positively impact students’ lives through support, community-building, and memorable experiences.</p><p>This is a live-in position starting with a 3 month contract and the possibility of extension to a year-round opportunity. &nbsp;Accommodation is provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a monthly salary paid bi-weekly.</p><p>Due to the live-in nature of this role, Residence Advisors are expected to prioritize their responsibilities within the residence. Outside commitments should be arranged in a way that does not interfere with scheduled duties or availability to support students when needed. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Start Date: </strong>June 21, 2026</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Student Support &amp; Welfare</p><ul><li>Be the first point of contact for student questions, concerns, or emergencies.</li><li>Foster a positive and inclusive residence atmosphere through community-building and personal support.</li><li>Act as a positive role model, mentor, and guide.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Check-ins and Check-outs</p><ul><li>Welcome new arrivals and assist with orientation and room allocation.</li><li>Coordinate smooth departures and transitions.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Safety &amp; Wellbeing</p><ul><li>Conduct regular room and building checks to ensure cleanliness, safety, and comfort.</li><li>Monitor curfew compliance (particularly for under-18s).</li><li>Be on-call for emergency response and escalation, including safeguarding protocols.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Events &amp; Activities</p><ul><li>Plan and lead residence-based activities and outings in collaboration with the Activities Manager.</li><li>Help create fun, memorable student experiences beyond the classroom.</li><li>Post and create fun and creative content on our Social Media to promote our residence and EF Toronto school.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Team Collaboration</p><ul><li>Work closely with the Housing Manager, fellow RAs, and school staff to create a seamless student experience.</li><li>Attend weekly staff meetings and assist with administrative duties related to housing as requested.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned as needed and are not limited to the above.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Schedule &amp; Availability &nbsp;</strong></p><p>This is a live-in position requiring a high degree of flexibility. Residence Advisors participate in scheduled duties that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.</p><p>In addition to scheduled responsibilities, Residence Advisors respond to residence emergencies and student support needs outside of regular duties. Residence Advisors must remain reachable by phone and able to respond to residence issues within a reasonable timeframe.</p><p>Residence Advisors are not considered to be working during all hours spent in the residence; only scheduled duties and response periods constitute working time.</p><p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><ul><li>Authorized to work in Canada&nbsp;</li><li>Full fluency in English (additional languages are a bonus, especially French and Spanish!)</li><li>Must have the legal right to work in Canada</li><li>Experience in residential life, student support, hospitality, or international education is an asset</li><li>Confident, calm, and clear communicator</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure &nbsp;</li><li>Highly organized and detail-oriented</li><li>Able to handle conflict with empathy and maturity</li><li>Positive attitude, approachable, and enthusiastic with an entrepreneurial spirit.</li><li>Flexible schedule — must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays and be on-call</li><li>Passionate about helping young people succeed in an international environment</li><li>Experience living, working, or studying abroad is a plus</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What EF Offers</strong></p><p>This position provides a monthly salary of $1,600 paid bi-weekly. On-site accommodation within the residence is provided as part of this role (estimated value $2,000–$2,500 per month) for the duration of the contract.
