    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Pediatric Hospitalist Division at K.Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is recruiting a full time Newborn Hospitalist to work in a fast paced dynamic care nursery setting experiencing a tremendous amount of growth! We are in need of an additional non-teaching attending hospitalist to complement a dynamic team of academic attending hospitalists and pediatric nurse practitioners in a collaborative team based approach. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>BC/BE in General Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics) </li>\n <li>Experience in caring for newborns and working in a hospital setting </li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills to work effectively with families and healthcare teams</li>\n <li>BLS, NALS, PALS Certifications</li>\n <li>Strong clinical judgement and decision making skills </li>\n <li>Ability to provide empathetic and supportive care to families </li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teams including nurse practitioners</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Primary Responsibility: Provide medical care to healthy newborns in the well newborn nursery with a key focus on ensuring the health and well-being of newborns, identifying and managing any issues that may arise, and providing education and support to families. High risk deliveries are attended by a NICU attending. This position does not include attending deliveries </li>\n <li>Perform routine assessments and examinations of newborns in well newborn nursery</li>\n <li>Provide evidence-based medical care and treatments to newborns including ordering labs and medications</li>\n <li>Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and other relevant topics </li>\n <li>Collaborate with healthcare teams including NICU staff, teaching hospitalist service, nurses, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and equitable care. </li>\n <li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance newborn care and outcomes</li>\n <li>No delivery room attendance required</li>\n <li>No special care nursery coverage required </li>\n <li>Prioritize safe and efficient discharges by 11 am to facilitate smooth work-flow  </li>\n <li>Coordinate transfer to higher level of care (NICU/SCN) for sick newborns </li>\n <li>Attend TeamSTEPPS (Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety) daily morning huddles </li>\n <li>Collaborate with other hospital departments in delivery of care to newborns, as appropriate</li>\n <li>Supervise and collaborate with pediatric nurse practitioners </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The minimum base salary for this position is $202,145.
