Regions</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMMITMENT</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two-year term</li>\n<li>Voluntary (with expenses paid for national travel to Basketball England meetings</li>\n<li>Coordinate and Chair the Regional Committee meetings (minimum 4 per year)</li>\n<li>Attend Basketball England monthly Regional Council meetings</li>\n<li>Attendance at Basketball England AGM</li>\n<li>By-weekly 121 meetings with Council Chair and Basketball England’s Lead</li>\n<li>Basketball England contact and liaison for regional stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PURPOSE</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Champion and add value to basketball strategy within the region</li>\n<li>Ensure and promote Basketball England governance codes</li>\n<li>Act as an advisory point of contact for regional matters</li>\n<li>Effectively coordinate and guide the regional committee and regional stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide regular updates to Basketball England’s lead on regional developments linked to the regional strategic development plan.</li>\n<li>Support, guide and advise regional stakeholders, leagues, clubs and associations with their development plans to achieve Basketball England’s strategic activities.</li>\n<li>Coordinate and manage the Regional Management Committee to deliver on their roles and responsibilities.</li>\n<li>In conjunction with Basketball England and their Committee, assess, manage and distribution the Development Grant Fund and any other funds.</li>\n<li>Lead and Chair Regional Committee meetings and share information from Basketball England and matters arising within the region.</li>\n<li>Support regional organisations within the region to develop and deliver grassroots basketball programmes including those prescribed by Basketball England.</li>\n<li>To attend Basketball England Council meetings (bi-monthly) and voice the regional views on matters affecting membership and other strategy areas.</li>\n<li>Coordinate and chair the Regional Management Committee Regional AGM.</li>\n<li>Coordinate the recruitment of Regional Management Committee members when required.</li>\n<li>Provide regular communication and support to its regional stakeholders, clubs, leagues &amp; associations with their activities.</li>\n<li>Utilise Basketball England communication functions to strengthen awareness of activities in the region such as website updates and social media updates.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT SHOULD A REGION LOOK LIKE?</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Philosophy</em>: To operate as a unified region which is a reputable arm of Basketball England delivering the same objectives and shared goals as the National Governing Body.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Role</em>: To reflect, support and complement the objectives of Basketball England.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Goals: </em>Each region should:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow and develop participation and talent with a focus on the needs of Basketball England members.</li>\n<li>Support the capacity building to develop the game and its</li>\n<li>Provide feedback across Basketball England and the community on the things that affect the</li>\n<li>Promote the importance of governance and referring matters to Basketball England where necessary.</li>\n<li>Act as an agent for Basketball England to help run or assist in delivering key activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working with Area Associations to ensure equal opportunities to develop the game within the region.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PERSON SPECIFICATION</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Regional Chair should be impartial and somebody with a strong interest in basketball, who is actively involved with the sport.</li>\n<li>Upholds the highest standards of integrity and professionalism adhering to the Seven Principles of Public Life (selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership).</li>\n<li>Have strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to support, motivate and lead</li>\n<li>Be approachable, positive, enthusiastic, dynamic and energetic at all</li>\n<li>Have a willingness to work collaboratively as a team with all members and stakeholders not letting any bias effect any decision making.</li>\n<li>Be a natural diplomat, with strong communication and negotiation</li>\n<li>Have the ability to forge effective and lasting relationships with key</li>\n<li>Flexibility to be available in the evenings and at weekends when the majority of committee meetings will</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Agree to be bound by Basketball England’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, all BE Policies, rules &amp;
