At Barnard, we build the riskiest, most difficult, complex jobs we can find and we hire people who thrive on tough work and demanding opportunities.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 5yrs of experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.</li>\n <li>Experience with diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.</li>\n <li>Must own service truck (not required) and tools applicable to the position</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.</li>\n <li>Ability to inspect heavy equipment and identify defects and performance issues both in the field and in the shop.</li>\n <li>Maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems on a variety of construction equipment and tools.</li>\n <li>Perform required visual inspections, diagnostics and preventative maintenance on a variety of construction equipment.</li>\n <li>Fabricate parts when needed.</li>\n <li>Perform all duties in accordance with Barnard’s safety culture and policies.</li>\n <li>Skilled in welding and cutting.</li>\n <li>Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.</li>\n <li>Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 100 pounds.</li>\n <li>Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.</li>\n <li>Ability to correctly rig and hoist material.</li>\n <li>Ability to tolerate heights without fear.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain balance.</li>\n <li>Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3.5 feet or more off the ground.</li>\n <li>Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).</li>\n <li>Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, six to seven day per week, 50 to 70 hours per week.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.</li>\n <li>Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled, E-Verify Employer</em></p>",
