    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong>Position Summary</strong></span></p><p><span>Works under general supervision to perform various repair and maintenance work and perform other generalized duties in the operations of county facilities.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Pay Grade: 47H</span></p><p><span>Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education</span><br>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Two (2) years of experience as a maintenance mechanic; AND</span></li><li><span>High school diploma or possess a GED.</span></li><li><span>PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.</span>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Performs various general maintenance and/or mechanical duties as they relate to the specific position.</span></li><li><span>Replaces defective electrical switches and other fixtures.</span></li><li><span>Paints walls, floors, woodwork, and fixtures of buildings using spray guns and brushes.</span></li><li><span>Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and open clogged drains using plumber's tools.</span></li><li><span>Replaces and repairs brick and plaster walls.</span></li><li><span>Keeps records and makes reports.</span></li><li><span>Makes minor plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry repairs.</span></li><li><span>Makes or repairs counters; benches; partitions; etc. using appropriate tools.</span></li><li><span>Assists higher skilled maintenance personnel.</span></li><li><span>Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.</span>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span><strong>KSAs</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Advanced knowledge of common practices; methods; and materials for maintenance of buildings and construction work.</span></li><li><span>Ability to work with people.</span></li><li><span>Ability to complete reports and requisitions.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge of wood and metal tools and instruments and their maintenance and use.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge of the practices; methods; tools; and materials required for the maintenance of mechanical equipment.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge of plumbing and ability to clean clogged drains and shut off water supply using plumber tools.</span></li><li><span>Ability to read and work with blueprints.</span>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin: 9pt 0in;\"><span><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Must have manual dexterity.</span></li><li><span>Ability to climb and work at heights of 10-20 feet.</span></li><li><span>Must be able to work outdoors or in inclement weather.</span><br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span><strong>Special Requirements</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Must possess a valid Tennessee driver license or secure one by date of employment.</span></li><li><span>Must have daily access to a personal operable automobile and meet county requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Must pass a physical examination.</span><br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span><strong>Disclaimer</strong></span></p><p><span>This position is subject to a background check for any convictions that have a substantial relationship to potential job duties.
