They work with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals during the final stages of life.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hiring PRN</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops and carries out nursing care plan.</li>\n <li>Does initial physical assessment on assigned patients.</li>\n <li>Maintains patient records and observations in a complete, accurate and legible manner.</li>\n <li>Reports change in patient condition to Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).</li>\n <li>Prepares written initial patient evaluation and regular patient updates thereafter.</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.</li>\n <li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li>\n <li>Performs venipuncture or obtains lab specimens per doctor order.</li>\n <li>Notifies pharmacy and patient of medications and supplies for which hospice is responsible.</li>\n <li>Keep patient’s primary provider and consulting provider informed of patient’s condition.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Requirements include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa (or) a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse able to work in the state of Iowa.</li>\n <li>Required to be current in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association.</li>\n <li>Required to show proof of having completed Mandatory Reporter course at time of hire or attend within 6 months of start date.</li>\n <li>Must adhere to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards.</li>\n <li>Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing in the performance of activities associated with the job.</li>\n <li>Basic computer knowledge to complete necessary functions of position.</li>\n <li>Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.</li>\n <li>Must have completed hospice and philosophy training.</li>\n</ul>",
