What You Will Do We are currently seeking an adaptable, strategic, and solution-oriented Business Development Manager to join one of our Partner Success Teams. In this role, you will work with Klarna’s largest and most strategic merchants and uncover growth opportunities and deliver scalable, value-driven solutions. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, self-directed environment where critical thinking, rapid learning, and strategic decision-making are essential to success. Driven by curiosity and impact, you thrive in fast-moving environments, confidently navigating ambiguity, seeking answers where others see obstacles, and taking full ownership to turn complex challenges into meaningful results. In this position, you will: Build and execute jointly agreed-upon business plans with partners or merchants to drive mutual growth and success. Deliver enhancements to existing brands and identify areas for improvement with key strategic partners. Work closely with internal analysts, delivery, and marketing teams at Klarna to drive enablement and lead generation activities. Identify new partnerships or business opportunities, pitch Klarna’s services, and close new deals, upsells, and expansion opportunities. Build strong relationships at both the executive and individual levels. Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including C-suite. Conduct extensive market research to position Klarna optimally. Network effectively with local clients and develop strong professional relationships. Ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained. Create and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews to members of merchants’ C-suite teams. Adapt the business model to be culturally relevant without losing its identity. Play an important role in taking Klarna to the next level in Canada and globally. Who You Are 5+ years in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales Experience in retail, payments, technology, and/or ecommerce. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. Highly driven with a passion for learning about and engaging with new cultures. Desire to build a business from the ground up. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Thrive in an environment that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Must be located in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area Bilingual English & French preferred Awesome to Have Advanced degree or relevant certifications. Experience with international markets and cross-cultural communication. Proficiency in multiple languages. Experience with CRM tools and data analysis software. Hands-on experience leveraging AI-powered tools, including Cursor, to accelerate workflows, enhance quality, and drive efficient problem-solving. Please include a CV in English.
