We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Some of the key responsibilities may include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Growing our coastal practice through client relationships (private and municipal), business development efforts and implement market growth initiatives</li>\n <li>Ensuring client satisfaction, project profitability goals and objectives.</li>\n <li>Providing leadership, direction and guidance to coastal engineering managers and staff</li>\n <li>Task and project management, including coastal engineering investigations and planning work, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;</li>\n <li>Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the coastal engineering work in marine related projects;</li>\n <li>Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;</li>\n <li>Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;</li>\n <li>Reviewing and managing written document production; and</li>\n <li>Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.</li>\n <li>Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, environmental, or geotechnical engineering, or a related science with emphasis on coastal or water resources. (required)</li>\n <li>Advanced degree in a related field of study (preferred)</li>\n <li>Professional licensure (e.g. P.E. / P.G.) (desirable but not essential)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)</li>\n <li>Demonstrated business development and project management experience (required)</li>\n <li>Experience overseeing mid-size to large-scale, multi-phase, coastal engineering projects (required)</li>\n <li>Experience in providing technical expertise and staff oversight for field studies, hydraulic/hydrodynamic modeling, engineering analysis, report preparation, permitting, construction document preparation and construction oversight</li>\n <li>Experience with environmental restoration, dredging and disposal and diversion projects (preferred)</li>\n <li>Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)</li>\n <li>Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.</li>\n <li>Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.</li>\n <li>Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
