    "description": "<p>We are RUSH Facilities, a division of RUSH Construction, an employee-owned local General Contractor in Brevard County, and we are looking for an ambitious Landscaping Technician to assist in our Grounds Keeping department. If you love to work outside, maintain landscaping, and foster a welcoming environment for clients, then this could be the job for you!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>SUMMARY</p>\n<p>Perform a range of diverse grounds-keeping tasks to enhance and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the facility.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p>\n<p>(Note: Other duties may be assigned requiring skills of a similar or less demanding nature.)</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Grounds Maintenance</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding lawns and garden beds</li>\n<li>Pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to maintain health and aesthetics</li>\n<li>Mulching, fertilizing, and aerating lawns and soil</li>\n<li>Controlling weeds, pests, and diseases using approved treatments</li>\n</ul>\n<p>2. Landscape Installation &amp; Construction</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planting flowers, trees, shrubs, and grass</li>\n<li>Installing hardscapes like walkways, patios, retaining walls, and irrigation systems</li>\n<li>Spreading gravel, sand, or other materials for pathways and beds</li>\n<li>Laying sod and seeding lawns</li>\n</ul>\n<p>3. Irrigation &amp; Water Management</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing, inspecting, and repairing irrigation systems</li>\n<li>Adjusting sprinkler systems to ensure proper coverage and water efficiency</li>\n<li>Monitoring soil moisture and plant hydration needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p>4. Equipment Operation &amp; Maintenance</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and other landscaping tools</li>\n<li>Performing basic maintenance on landscaping equipment (e.g., sharpening blades, refueling, and cleaning)</li>\n<li>Operating tractors, skid steers, or other heavy equipment (if required)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS</p>\n<p>To excel in this role, individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p>\n<p>This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Prior landscaping experience is desirable.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p>\n<p>Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, is essential. The ability to communicate with tradesmen, peers, supervisors, and customers is required.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p>\n<p>Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are necessary. Understanding concepts such as diameter, radius, and circumference is also required.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>REASONING ABILITY</p>\n<p>Candidates should possess an understanding of mechanical systems and their safe and efficient operation.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A valid Florida driver's license is required.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p>\n<p>Employees must meet the physical demands of this role, including the ability to work in varying environmental conditions within OSHA and other jurisdictional regulations. This includes lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds safely and performing the expected range of motions for grounds work. Work may involve standing, sitting, crouching, or lying prone while using hand and power tools. Communication, both verbally and through hearing, is essential. Vision requirements include the ability to see close work, distance, depth perception, and adapt to changing light conditions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p>\n<p>This position may involve exposure to hot and cold environments for short periods with appropriate protective equipment. Humid and wet environments may also be encountered. Transitioning between job sites within the environment may require bending, crawling, and climbing while ensuring safety.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Must have clean background check and be able to obtain security clearance. </span></p>",
