Major duties include processing custom specification trailer designs for mass production and bills of material generation. Provides technical assistance to corresponding departments. Issues technical orders for product assemblies.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>WHAT YOU’LL DO</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Translates Sales or customer specification into mechanical drawings for mass production.</li>\n <li>Generates 3D models and drawings for final fabrication and production assemblies.</li>\n <li>Reviews and checks production drawings.</li>\n <li>Makes revision to BOM and drawings per specification or manager’s direction.</li>\n <li>Performs product structure and design fit up analysis.</li>\n <li>Generates bills of material for MRP system.</li>\n <li>Provides technical assistance related to product design to other departments and material procurements.</li>\n <li>Answers technical inquiries from Manufacturing, Sales Department, and Accounting.</li>\n <li>Reviews Bills of Material and material specifications, completeness and correctness.</li>\n <li>Reviews material specifications to satisfy customer’s specification.</li>\n <li>Questions and suggests product specifications to Sales Department.</li>\n <li>Proposes and suggests important engineering issues to Engineering Manager.</li>\n <li>Solely determines engineering changes which do not require higher authority approval.</li>\n <li>Mentoring of lesser experienced co-workers to build process and product knowledge is required.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Your skills and abilities (required qualifications)</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Education:</em> Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology required.</li>\n <li><em>Experience</em>: Minimum of 3 years or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Technology</li>\n <li><em>Skills</em>: High level of creativity, sound judgment, technical knowledge, excellent communication skills required.</li>\n <li>Decision-making skills.  </li>\n <li>Knowledge of computers, measuring instruments such as gauges, test rigs, etc. </li>\n <li>Software knowledge (AutoCAD, CATIA, SmarTeam, Word, Excel, Outlook).</li>\n <li>Ability to adapt to evolving MRP/ERP system implementations.</li>\n <li><em>Travel</em>: As needed.<strong><u> </u></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to transit between the structures and around the property in ambient weather conditions.    </li>\n <li>Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate while in the office.
