No Problem.</h2><p>At Discover Vision Centers, we believe in investing in people. <strong>No prior ophthalmology experience is required.</strong> We provide hands-on training and mentorship to help you build the skills needed to succeed in this specialized field.</p><p>If you are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn from some of the region’s leading eye care professionals, this is a great opportunity to begin or grow your career in ophthalmology.</p><p><br></p><h2>Essential Skills &amp; Abilities</h2><ul><li>Demonstrate advanced comprehension of ophthalmic assistant skills as outlined by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Possess a basic understanding of optics and the ability to perform refractometry<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of optics, refraction, and contact lenses<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing diagnostic testing<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrate strong computer literacy and comfort working with EMR systems<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><p>As a Refractive Technician, you will play an important role in supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth patient experience.</p><p>Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Gathering patient medical histories<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Performing patient work-ups and pre-testing<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Measuring visual acuity and performing pupil assessments<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Conducting diagnostic testing such as applanation tonometry, OCT, corneal topography, and keratometry<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Performing manual refractions and assisting with contact lens evaluations<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Accurately scribing for physicians during patient exams<br>&nbsp;</li><li>Supporting physicians and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow</li></ul>",
