EO/AA</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position supervises the daily activities of the assigned department by coordinating in-service and ongoing education, monitoring quality control, and safety processes, hiring and training new staff, evaluating performance, and scheduling work shifts. Reporting staff operates in support of the environment of the facility. Staff has minimal or no interaction with the patient/family during their visit and has no involvement in the coordination of medical treatment. Staff is tasked with materials management and/or maintenance of the overall conditions of the assigned facility. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervises the daily operations of the department including the interviewing and hiring of staff, training, creation of work schedules, and work assignment distribution.</li>\n <li>Enforces the department's written standards of practice, policies and procedures, and initiates corrective action as necessary.</li>\n <li>Evaluates job performance to ensure department job standards are being maintained.</li>\n <li>Resolves problems, provides support, and expedites service to hospital departments.</li>\n <li>Monitors safety and quality assurance functions by inspecting processes for completeness and accuracy.</li>\n <li>Maintains department records and prepares monthly reports.</li>\n <li>Monitors, orders and maintains stock of department supplies and equipment.</li>\n <li>Participates in hospital committees and meetings, as assigned.</li>\n <li>May assist in budget preparation.</li>\n <li>Performs additional duties of the department, as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to develop relationships with patients, guests, and co-workers.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to ensure patient information is guarded and respected.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated organization, human relations, and effective communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h3>Qualifications</h3>\n<h4>Required</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate’s degree in a related field, or the equivalency.</li>\n <li>One (1) year of experience in a related area.</li>\n <li>Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver’s License may be required.</li>\n <li>Depending upon department of hire, a valid CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications (Preferred)</h2>\n<h4>Preferred</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>One (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity.</li>\n <li><p>Six (6) months experience tinting spectacle lenses.</p></li>\n <li><p>Six (6) months experience hand edging spectacle lenses.</p></li>\n <li><p>Six (6) months experience creating ptosis crutch for frames.</p></li>\n <li><p>Six (6) months experience working with specialty contacts and training specialty contact lens insertion and removal</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</h3>\n<p><em>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects involving patient care or medical equipment.
