    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>A Design Engineer I designs battery components and tooling for automotive battery production equipment under the guidance/mentorship of experience design engineers as assigned from the department Manager/Director.  A Design Engineer I will perform routine engineering tasks under the direction of the department manager and experienced design engineers while gaining the skills needed to lead and manage projects independently. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S, Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on Automotive products, equipment, and tooling.</li>\n <li>Prepare and deliver information, technical reports, and presentations to management, customers, vendors, and technical partners.</li>\n <li>Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes.</li>\n <li>Maintain and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties which may become essential to the position.</li>\n <li>Participate in regular technical reviews throughout all phases of a project.</li>\n <li>Interact with production and engineering at all levels.</li>\n <li>Track and record time spent on tasks and projects.</li>\n <li>Travel worldwide for the company as required (approximately 5 days per year)</li>\n <li>Attend industry related technical conferences, seminars, and/or trade shows.</li>\n <li>Assist Engineers to interface with customers to design new products and support existing products</li>\n <li>May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical equipment and tooling.</li>\n <li>Perform calculations and tests on products, equipment, and tooling as directed by a senior engineer.</li>\n <li>Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to design products such as tooling, robots, machines, measuring devices, etc.</li>\n <li>Responsible for ordering/purchasing tooling from vendors, including EPM’s Central Services.</li>\n <li>Contribute to bringing products from idea to proof of concept, through to the final, manufactural product.</li>\n <li>Assist in the design, development, integration, and testing of all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and instrumentation.</li>\n <li>Uses computer-aided design software and/or graphic tools to update drawings, design simple tooling, and design simple mechanical machines or mechanisms.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Experience & Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Typically, with less than 5 years of Engineering experience.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the battery construction process preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education/Certification</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Skills & Competencies</strong></p>\n<p>Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Analytical and problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Project Management skills</li>\n <li>Oral and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Microsoft (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)</li>\n <li>CAD (2D and 3D)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>SOMAX</li>\n <li>IQS</li>\n <li>MSR</li>\n <li>Six Sigma Tools</li>\n <li>FMEA</li>\n <li>Control Plans</li>\n <li>CREO</li>\n</ul>",
