    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade existing plant equipment to ensure long-term equipment reliability,</li>\n <li>Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations in support of design change packages, including AC and DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting and protective relay settings.</li>\n <li>Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications,</li>\n <li>Participate in bid review evaluation process for potential equipment vendors, to include supporting vendor requests for additional information, developing responses to vendor questions, and maintaining a tracking mechanism for questions/responses,</li>\n <li>Prepare and review scoping documents for conceptual designs, to include constructability reviews,</li>\n <li>Interface with project team members from other engineering and design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, I&C),</li>\n <li>Interface with the client in support of the project, including implementing personnel,</li>\n <li>Interface with vendors to perform document reviews and provide written comment,</li>\n <li>Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns to validate scope and ensure client satisfaction</li>\n <li>Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs</li>\n <li>Support site installation activities during project implementation,</li>\n <li>Assist the S&L project manager to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget,</li>\n <li>Responsible for overall technical, financial, and administrative performance of the engineering scope by:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Initiating and conveying scope of work to project team members</li>\n   <li>Defining deliverables (i.e. calcs, specs, drawings, design change etic…)</li>\n   <li>Reviewing status and tracking progress of team members to maintain project scope/budget and keep client informed.</li>\n   <li>Routine status meetings</li>\n   <li>Submitting progress reports</li>\n   <li>Tracking and resolving open items and emergent project issues,</li>\n   <li>Coordinating completion of project deliverables</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. </strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada for this position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. Please click here to determine your eligibility.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Essential skills and experience:</li>\n <li>BSEE with emphasis in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program</li>\n <li>7 or more years’ experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, with a focus on design for existing nuclear power plants (preferred),</li>\n <li>Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications,</li>\n <li>Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc.),</li>\n <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client,</li>\n <li>Detail oriented approach to work,</li>\n <li>Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Valued but not required skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>P.Eng license</li>\n <li>MSEE</li>\n <li>Active Ontario Power Generation (OPG) security clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Sargent and Lundy is fully committed to abiding by all equal opportunity employment standards.
