    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Regions Hospital’s Histopathology Department is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused <span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">Pathologists’ Assistant</span> to join our team.&nbsp;</p><p>A Pathologists’ Assistant is a professional who is qualified by academic and practical training to provide service in anatomic pathology under the direction of a qualified Pathologist who is responsible for the performance of the Assistant.&nbsp;<span> </span>As a <span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;\">Pathologists’ Assistant</span> at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals.</p><p>As a Pathologist’ Assistant you will:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Perform anatomic gross tissue analysis and preparation.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Perform Postmortem examinations.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Maintain gross pathology records.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist Pathologists in preparing patient reports.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Maintain quality assurance, responsible for proper maintenance and documentations of equipment, provision, adequate supplies and cleanliness of the surgical pathology and autopsy suites.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Maintain and implement policies and procedures in anatomic pathology relates Joint Commission compliance and under the direction of the Anatomic &amp; Clinical Pathology Practice Manager and Histopathology Medical Director.</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assists in the organization and coordination of anatomic pathology conferences.</p></li></ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Work schedule</u></strong>: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly) Day Shift</p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p>Education:&nbsp;</p><p>Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Pathology Assistants study</p><p>OR</p><p>Baccalaureate degree with a major or minor in any of the biological or allied health sciences and 3 years of Pathologists’ Assistant on the job training required.</p><p>Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:</p><p>Certification as a Pathologist Assistant by the American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA) or American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 15 months of hire.&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></p><p>Experience: At least one year of experience as a certified Pathologists’ Assistant</p><p>Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:</p><p>Certification as a Pathologist Assistant by the American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA) or American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)</p><p><span><strong>Benefits:</strong> Regions Hospital offers a competitive benefits package (.5 FTE or greater) that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 401K with match, disability insurance, fertility coverage and tuition reimbursement.
