We offer deep sector expertise across a full range of products and services in investment banking, equities, fixed income, asset and wealth management in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East and Asia.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><b>Responsibilities</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Act as the lead finance business partner to support Canada CFO &amp; Treasurer to management local finance, regulatory reporting, tax and treasury functions.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Lead the accounting and financial reporting requirements related to the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and&nbsp;</span><span>CIRO rules.</span></li>\n <li><span>Review and/or perform detailed financial statement reviews, tie-outs to supporting work papers, and provide value added comments for variance against budget.</span></li>\n <li><span>Serve as the primary liaison for audit process with internal/external auditors and regulators</span><span>.</span></li>\n <li><span>Oversee and support internal and external audit process including the preparation of working papers, schedules, analysis and other required documentation.</span></li>\n <li><span>Review and/or preparation of Canada direct and indirect tax provisions with external consultant</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide support for all corporate finance, treasury and tax related matters in Canada</span><span> and work closely with the Jefferies Accounting Policy Group, External Reporting Group and across different Product Control groups to ensure alignment on accounting standards and disclosure requirements.</span></li>\n <li><span>Liaise with internal resources (Controllers group, Treasury, Tax, FP&amp;A, etc.), to ensure we meet our monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and deadlines.</span></li>\n <li><span>Makes recommendations to the Canada Finance leadership team on improving operational effectiveness including financial reporting changes, taxation matters, and internal controls.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensuring appropriate internal controls are designed and operating effectively in support of the finance, tax and treasury functions within Canada</span><span>.</span></li>\n <li><span>Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><b>Job Requirements</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree(s) in accounting, finance, or related fields</li>\n <li>Qualified Accountant CPA or equivalent</li>\n <li>8-10+ years of Accounting/Finance experience in Broker dealer “CIRO”/banking “OSFI” /Auditing and control/capital markets/financial services industry experience</li>\n <li>Excellent analytical and communication skills, and ability to communicate at the Senior Management level across business units</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with a focus on driving results and strong sense of accountability</li>\n <li>Demonstrated senior level management and leadership experience</li>\n <li>Proficiency and advance knowledge of broker dealer, banking, and tax regulations (e.g. CIRO, OSC, CRA)</li>\n <li>In-depth understanding of financial and non-financial risk management of financial institution</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>#LI-MB1</p>",
