    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><u>Responsibilities include:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and design manufacturing process of complex optical components utilizing existing equipment and technologies, or implementing new cost-efficient approach.</li>\n <li>Design tools and fixtures to improve or stream line manufacturing process.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Defining best technical solutions to mitigate the human factor influences of the process.</li>\n <li>Troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis for prototype units through development to the production process</li>\n <li>Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Makes final decisions on operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Drives program and issue resolutions cross functionally .</li>\n <li>Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. \n  <ul>\n   <li>Decisions may impact across other functions within the division or globally.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Creating and maintaining project documentation and communicating information at project status meetings.</li>\n <li>Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods..</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Technical Skills</u></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of fabrication and polishing of the optical components. Knowledge of crystal fabrication a &amp;#43;</li>\n <li>Proven experience as optician for various crystal processing procedures&nbsp;</li>\n <li>SolidWorks design and simulations skills</li>\n <li>Hands on experience in optical shop&nbsp; \n  <ul>\n   <li>CNC programming. \n    <ul>\n     <li>Utilizing microscopes, interferometers, and laser measurement setup.</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Proven experience in OneNote, Microsoft Office, Oracle, or similar software</li>\n <li>Six Sigma, C-Lean, and 5S knowledge a must.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Education</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Masters in manufacturing engineering or equivalent, including in experience with optics and material engineering&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 9 years experience; or equivalent experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b><u>Safety Requirements</u></b></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
