This role is an addition to our strong maintenance group and plays a key part in keeping our on-road fleet operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.</span></p>\n<p><span>Established in 1990, KLS Earthworks &amp; Environmental is a family-rooted company and a leader in excavation, earthworks, and environmental construction across Western Canada. Built on a foundation of safety and operational excellence, we deliver time- and cost-saving solutions through a modern fleet and a highly skilled team of professionals.</span></p>\n<p><span>At KLS, we value people who Help First, stay Hungry, are Willing to Learn, and remain Committed to doing the job right.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with troubleshooting and inspecting trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment to identify faults, malfunctions, and maintenance requirements.</li>\n<li>Support Journeyperson Technicians in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake system issues using diagnostic software and testing equipment.</li>\n<li>Assist in adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing worn or defective parts under supervision.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and repair documentation.</li>\n<li>Participate in testing repaired vehicles and equipment to verify proper operation and ensure repairs meet manufacturer and company standards.</li>\n<li>Perform cleaning, lubrication, greasing, and other preventative maintenance tasks on fleet vehicles and equipment.</li>\n<li>Assist with repair and maintenance work on gravel trucks, truck and pup combinations, trailers, service trucks, and other commercial vehicles.</li>\n<li>Complete routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, tire inspections, brake inspections, and hydraulic hose replacement.</li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company safety policies and industry best practices.</li>\n<li>Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and apprenticeship program requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician (2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year)</li>\n<li>Valid Class 5 Driver's License; Class 1 or Class 3 License considered an asset.</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and commercial vehicle maintenance.</li>\n<li>Previous experience working with heavy trucks, trailers, construction equipment, automotive repair, or agricultural equipment is considered an asset.</li>\n<li>Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.</li>\n<li>Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn diagnostic and repair procedures.</li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret service manuals, parts diagrams, and repair procedures.</li>\n<li>Capable of lifting to 50 lbs and performing physically demanding work in both shop and field environments.</li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.</li>\n<li>Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or respond to breakdowns when required.</li>\n<li>Reliable transportation to and from the shop or designated work location.</li>\n<li>Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to develop a long-term career in the heavy equipment industry.</li>\n<li>CVIP certification or air brake endorsement considered an asset but not required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we are Offering</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive industry wage</li>\n<li>Training and development opportunities</li>\n<li>Supportive team environment</li>\n<li>Stable, full-time office position</li>\n<li>Opportunity to grow within a leading earthworks company</li>\n<li>Play an important role in supporting workplace safety and employee success</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>KLS Earthworks Inc. is committed to creating a safe and inclusive workplace.
